Usage
Our laser cutter is a 'Universal' with a bed size of 600 mm X 300 mm.
Designs for CNC router cutting can be tested in a smaller scale using the laser cutter and in scale material. We can build a marquette of complex jobs to save waste and time before we cut into large sheets of ply etc.
The laser cutter is a valuable and versatile tool for general modelmaking. We can manufacture components, add texture and fine detail or repetitive cutting.
For Architectural models we can work off the architects plans. Creating cutting files to laser cut the various components for a model building. Wonderful for providing detailing and any textures required. Also used in the creation of many film props and some costume work. But has many other uses.
Associated with the Laser cutter are several computer workstations. We strive to keep up with any digital advancements relevant to modelmaking. Primarily we use Rhino 4, Corel draw, Auto Cad, Illustrator and Photoshop. We can break down and create cut files from most design files.
The Big Red button, a prop for the movie Avatar. Most of the components for this were laser cut.
