our flexible process.
We’re comfortable partnering with studios and organisations at every stage of the creative journey, from early concept and prototyping to full-scale manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.
Whether you have a fully-formed concept or just a spark of an idea, we can help bring your vision to life as your creative production partner.

starting with an idea.
We love getting involved early, collaborating on design, fabrication methods and material choices to help your vision take shape in the real world. Bring us drawings, specifications or CAD files, or a brief and an idea to explore. While we work best with clear details, some projects begin as a just sketch on paper!

conceptual design.
This is where ideas start to take shape. The conceptual design stage might result in a digital visualisation, a physical sample, or both, providing everyone with a real sense of what the finished artwork could become. The work is fully costed at this stage and we then work to a fixed price.

detailed design.
When there’s excitement and agreement to move forward, we dive into detailed design. Here, we refine the concept and prepare it for fabrication. This phase usually includes plan drawings, technical details, and a clear project plan outlining timing and logistics.

fabrication.
We manage the full fabrication process, from material sourcing through to build and finishing. We work across a wide range of materials and techniques, selecting what’s best for durability, safety, and the environment — whatever it takes to deliver a stunning result!

installation.
We prefer to handle installation ourselves, ensuring the work is cared for right up to completion. However, we realise this isn't always possible, so we are also happy to guide third party installation when required.

maintenance.
Our relationship doesn’t end at installation. We are available to help maintain and care for pieces, making sure they remain as striking as the day they were installed and unveiled.
Māori art projects.
When we work on kaupapa Māori projects, our role is one of support and facilitation, not authorship. The artist leads; we follow.
We see Human Dynamo as a tool in the artist’s hands — bringing their vision to life while upholding their tikanga, narratives and protocols.
In practice, that means:
-
The artist’s wishes and cultural direction guide every decision
-
Consultation with iwi, hapū or cultural advisors is supported whenever required
-
Our workshop is a welcoming, collaborative space where artists are involved at every stage.
Our goal is simple: to use our skills, tools and processes to help tell the artist’s story with integrity, authenticity and respect.
