Women's Rugby World Cup Player of the Match Trophies (2021)
We supported the creation of the Mastercard Player of the Match trophies for the Women’s Rugby World Cup NZ 2021, bringing specialist ceramic knowledge to a highly symbolic and technical object.

Production oversight of contemporary, ceramic trophies
These trophies were made possible through the expertise of Human Dynamo founder Rob Uivel, whose deep specialisation in ceramic manufacture enabled the production of these refined, tactile forms at a championship level.
The trophy design draws inspiration from Māori ceremonial traditions, combining cultural reference with contemporary design. Each piece also incorporates an audio element, playing a clip from the match itself, transforming the trophy into both a physical and experiential record of the moment!
This project brought together multiple collaborators across design, fabrication, and production, resulting in a trophy that feels meaningful, innovative, and worthy of the achievement it represents.
